Why use VerifyDI?

Expired medical devices pose serious risks, including patient harm, regulatory violations, and financial losses. Studies show that up to 10% to 25% of hospital medical supplies are expired at any given time (Health Industry Distributors Association, 2022, Cardinal Health), leading to avoidable infections, device malfunctions, exposed liability and costly waste.

  • Infection Risk – Expired catheters, sutures, and implants can increase post-surgical infection rates by up to 25% (Journal of Hospital Infection, 2021).
  • Device Malfunction – Outdated surgical instruments and implants have led to over 1,000 reported adverse events in the past five years (FDA MAUDE Database, 2023).
  • Regulatory Violations – Non-compliance with FDA and Joint Commission standards can result in fines, legal action, and loss of accreditation.

VerifyDi leverages advanced AI to continuously improve expiration tracking and device safety:

  • Vision in your pocket – Your cell phone camera reads barcodes, QR codes, and printed expiration dates with 99% accuracy.
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP) – Interprets expiration labels even when formats vary across manufacturers.
  • Machine Learning – Learns from scanned data to detect anomalies, predict expirations, and reduce human error.

About Us

Hello! We are three people (Matt, Mike and Mark) that have witnessed for years the pain “doing inventory” to look for expired product. It wasn't until the advent of AI technology that this app is possible. So we strapped up our boots and went to work on something that can simply scan a medical device and let you know what to do with it next. Something so simple but yet can save so much time and energy.

Please use the contact form if you are interested. We will most likely call or write you back to ask some questions. We won’t send you spam or cat pictures.
